Payments and how to book
Our expeditions are aimed at the budget conscious traveler who expects value for money so we have decided to make the expedition payment as affordable as possible in order to attract a good spectrum of people. We would rather have an expedition full of real travelers than a few people who expect to be waited on hand and foot. Also, more people means more fun so in order to keep our costs down we decided not to print glossy brochures and rent offices on the High Street. This saving is reflected in our prices and saves you money!
The Expedition Payment
The cost of our expeditions are divided into two payments, the Expedition Payment and the Local Payment”
The Expedition Payment is payable in U.K. in £ Sterling only and must be paid in full at least two months prior to the expedition start date, usually at the pre-departure meeting. To secure yourself a place on one of our expeditions we need to receive a £200 deposit at the time of booking. You can pay by cheque or direct deposit. All cheques must be made out to EXPLORATORY OVERLAND EXPEDITIONS.
Deposit cheques and/or deposit slips must be accompanied by a signed Booking Form which can be printed off from our website. You can post your booking form and deposit to us at our postal address:

The Local Payment
This is a cash payment that must be given to your expedition leader at the beginning of your trip.
The local payment is essentially part of your expedition payment and it is the cash fund that will be used to run the expedition, i.e. to pay for camping, hotels, food, ferry tickets, some entrance fees to NP etc.
Please bear in mind that this is not a kitty and is not refundable.
Although all local payment amounts are advertised in GBP Sterling, depending on which expedition you are joining, you may be asked to bring the equivalent GBP amount in either Euros or US Dollars.
