Make no mistake, this is going to be a tough expedition!
No-one has ever driven an overland vehicle along this route before, and for good reason. The further east you travel the worse the road conditions become with high altitude desert tracks to follow, muddy bogs traverse and numerous river crossings to negotiate. A conventional vehicle simply can’t undertake such a journey, even the best 4x4 car does not have the ground clearance to cross the boulder ridden rivers. For these very reasons we will be utilizing a purpose built 8x8 MAN overland expedition vehicle, probably the most rugged off-road truck ever built!
This expedition is definitely not for the faint of heart or those seeking a relaxing holiday. We will be bush camping in the wild most of the time, bathing in rivers to keep clean and cooking on wood fires almost every night. We will be totally self sufficient!
Because the expedition is of the most extreme exploratory nature we are only providing you with a list of countries that we propose to visit. There will be no day to day or week to week itinerary. We will take things as they come. We will of course try to visit many of the highlights en-route but be prepared to be in the wilds most of the time.
Everyone must be prepared for any occasion that may arise including long waits at borders (sometimes weeks!), environmental conditions like swollen rivers that block our progress, digging our truck out of mud or sand for days on end at high altitude, etc, etc. This expedition will be very hard work at times!
We estimate the expedition will take between 5 and 6 months to complete but the only real time frame we are bound to is that we must arrive before the Siberian winter snow sets in.

So if it is a real adventure you are after, they don’t come any more adventurous than this!

What’s included and what’s not

We of course realise that not everyone is going to visit every ruin, raft every river and hike every trail along the way so we have left most of these activities as optional and therefore kept the payment to a minimum.
